The ensemble is particularly recognized for its interpretations of Romantic repertoire performed on period instruments. \nHighly active in Montréal\, the ensemble founded Les ruelles musicales in 2020\, a summer concert series that brings chamber music into the heart of Montréal’s neighbourhoods. The project has led to several interdisciplinary collaborations\, notably with dancer Axelle Munezero and dancer Sébastien Provencher. \nCommitted to education\, the Cobalt Quartet has been teaching chamber music at the CAMMAC Music Centre since 2022. Previously\, the ensemble served as collaborating quartet at the Domaine Forget International Academy for four years and as ensemble-in-residence at the Université de Montréal. \nGuillaume Villeneuve’s 1866 Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume violin and 1955 Arthur Copley (W.E Hill & Sons) bow\, Diane Bayard’s 1751 Antonio Gragnani violin and c.1925 Victor Fétique bow\, as well as François Leclerc’s c.1790-1810 Pietro Antonio Cateni cello and Gustav Prager bow are generously loaned by Canimex. \n  \nQuatuor Cobalt \nFondé à Montréal en 2017\, le Quatuor Cobalt occupe aujourd’hui une place singulière sur la scène canadienne par la cohérence de sa vision artistique et l’ampleur de ses projets. L’ensemble se démarque notamment par son interprétation du répertoire romantique sur instruments d’époque. \nTrès actif à Montréal\, l’ensemble a créé Les ruelles musicales en 2020\, une série estivale qui ancre la musique de chambre au cœur de la vie montréalaise. Hailing from St. Petersburg\, Kharitonov clinched top honors at prestigious competitions including the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition and the Rachmaninoff Competition\, launching a concert career that has traversed continents. On North American soil\, Kharitonov’s artistry has left an indelible mark\, with appearances at venues such as Carnegie Hall and the National Gallery of Art. As a composer\, Kharitonov’s talent shines brightly\, earning him accolades including the First Prize at the All-National Composer’s Competition in Russia. A Doctor of Musical Arts graduate from the University of North Texas\, he continues to push artistic boundaries with recordings showcasing a diverse repertoire\, from Leo Ornstein to Tchaikovsky\, demonstrating his versatility and mastery across genres. \n  \nArsentiy Kharitonov\, pianiste et compositeur russe\, a rapidement acquis une grande reconnaissance musicale. We have a fantastic roster of performers all waiting for you to decide what they will play! \nE-mail us with what you’d like to hear played at the Closing Celebration of the Festival and tell us why you’ve picked it. We’re looking for the stories behind why you love this piece of music. \nIf your music and story is selected for this concert\, you will win ten tickets to invite friends and family. There will also be one Grand Prize Winner who will win two passes to the 2027 Music and Beyond festival. \nRules to enter: \nPlease suggest a piece of music for us to include and why you would like to hear it. It can be for one player or many players\, including for orchestra or for choir. If your piece is chosen\, we will try to find the instrument(s) or voice type you have requested. \nPlease send your suggestion to info@musicandbeyond.ca no later than May 31\, 2026. \nParticipez à la programmation !\nLe 17 juillet 2026\, nous vous invitons à participer à notre très spécial concert de clôture. Nous avons une liste fantastique d’artistes qui n’attendent que vous pour décider de ce qu’ils joueront ! \nEnvoyez-nous un courriel expliquant quel morceau vous aimeriez entendre jouer lors de la clôture du festival et dites-nous pourquoi vous l’avez choisi. Nous voulons connaître les raisons pour lesquelles vous aimez ce morceau de musique. \nSi votre musique et votre récit sont sélectionnés pour ce concert\, vous gagnerez dix billets vous permettant d’inviter vos amis et votre famille. Il y aura également un gagnant du grand prix qui remportera deux passeports pour le Festival Musique et Autres Mondes 2027. \nRègles de participation : \nProposez-nous un morceau de musique et expliquez-nous pourquoi vous aimeriez l’entendre.
