Jean Cloutier


Jean Cloutier served as Ottawa Municipal Councillor for Alta Vista from 2014 to 2018.   Jean was a successful business professional prior to being elected. He is a CPA, CGA and was the Chief Financial Officer at Tubman Funeral Homes for 12 years. As an avid movie fan and entrepreneur, Jean started as an usher at the Towne Cinema on Beechwood  in 1975.  After becoming manager and owner of the Towne, he and his business partner bought the Nelson Cinema on Rideau Street in 1988 and the popular ByTowne Cinema was born.  

Jean and Sandra have four children: Élizabeth, Daniel and Emilie. Their second child Katherine was diagnosed with a brain tumor and passed away in 1996. They have a special connection to CHEO and the staff that provided such wonderful care to their family. 

Jean is a life-long resident of Ottawa and enjoys singing with the choir at St-François d’Assise Church on Wellington Street, cycling and holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
