Music of Ravel, Sayat-Nova, Philip Glass and Serouj Kradjian

Isabel Bayrakdarian and the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Music Director, Anne Manson, transport us first to the exotic world of 13th-century Europe and then to the excitement of 21st-century North America. The mysterious life and songs of early female troubadours inspired a major new work by Canadian composer Serouj Kradjian, which showcases the incomparable Isabel Bayrakdarian. Works by Ravel and the 18th-century Armenian composer, Sayat-Nova, also feature Ms. Bayrakdarian. Philip Glass’s inspiring Symphony No. 3 eases us back into the present.
